IMA Lipper 90 is a true wake bait for sea bass designed by professional Japanese angler Hitoshi Suzuki in 2019. You know those times when sea bass are not particularly willing to rise to topwater but also seem uninterested in any lure swimming just below the surface? This is the right moment to use the Lipper 90. This lure perfectly imitates a weak baitfish swimming with its back skimming the surface or just below the waterline. Its swimming action mainly consists of a wobbling that intensifies with increased speed and a balanced rolling. This lure must be retrieved strictly in a linear way, with stops and accelerations, and at most some gentle twitches. The swimming depth, which will never exceed 20cm, depends on the retrieval speed and the rod angle. When worked with its back out of the water, its dorsal fin cuts the surface creating a very attractive trail. Even when submerged, the Lipper 90 still triggers strikes similar to those of a topwater lure, also in terms of spectacle. The most important thing, however, is that when retrieving the Lipper 90, you must keep in mind that you are imitating a baitfish with serious problems, which may make some sudden darts, but its movement will always be weak and fatigued. Typical areas to use this lure are lagoons, muddy flats, estuaries, channels, and generally all spots where you would also cast a WTD. The IMA Lipper 90 measures 9cm and weighs 12g with a floating setup and is equipped with two size 4 treble hooks.
