Reel SLX 71A
The SLX is one of Shimano's most popular baitcasting reels and combines an outstanding quality-price ratio with solid performance at an exceptionally low price. It ticks all the right boxes when it comes to features and performance, representing Shimano value, quality, and credibility at a price that almost defies logic.
The SLX is the perfect choice if you are starting to fish with baitcasting reels. Perhaps you have used spinning reels in the past but now want to try something more direct, compact, and lightweight. Or maybe you just want great value for money. Whatever your motivation, you can't go wrong with the versatile SLX. It takes many of the proven and trusted features found on Shimano's more expensive reels and packs them into a distinctive compact HAGANE body that is easy to handle and use, even for inexperienced anglers.
When it comes to the lower price range of the market, there is often a compromise between quality and price. But the SLX has rewritten the rules. To start, it uses a high-end lightweight aluminum HAGANE body, which is important because a reel with a robust structure works more effectively under pressure. Casting is controlled by Shimano's SVS Infinity spool braking technology, which can be adjusted almost infinitely via an external dial to achieve the exact amount of pressure required based on style, preferences, and lure size. And to ensure minimal vibration during casting of the superb Magnumlite III spool, the S3D spool benefits from Silent Tune technology, taken directly from Shimano's more advanced models. Finally, when you hook your first fish, you will surely appreciate the slightly longer handle, which provides the power needed to control tougher fish.
