The Dark Matter Rig is one of Neil Spooner's favorites and is very easy to recreate. However, if you don't have time to prepare rigs or prefer a more practical solution, this pre-tied version is perfect for you. It can be used with sinking or wafter-style baits, and thanks to the included Extenda Hair Stops, it works well with baits of any size (although the hair length varies depending on the hook size) and allows for different lengths of separation between the bait and the hook. To create it, we used a Wide Gape hook and a piece of heat-shrink tubing that adds aggressiveness to the rig and improves bite potential. Additionally, there is a piece of silicone that allows the hair to move away properly from the hook, ensuring the hook turns and sets effectively. It is tied with Dark Matter braid, which sinks perfectly and blends with the bottom, selecting a breaking strain suitable for the hook used. It is available with or without a barb and respectively in the following combinations of Wide Gape hooks and Dark Matter braids: size 2 hook with 30 lb braid, size 4 or 6 hook with 20 lb braid, and size 8 or 10 hook with 15 lb braid. Each pack contains one rig.
