Balsa wood is incredibly buoyant and therefore perfect for making markers: there is nothing more frustrating than finding the perfect spot far from the shore only to lose it because the marker does not float back up! This marker is the shorter version of the SLR Marker Float and is suitable for casts around 100 yd/90 m. During flight, it handles strong wind very well thanks to its slender body and the special shape of the rigging, which is fluorescent orange and therefore easily visible. However, balsa is not the most durable material, especially if dragged repeatedly over gravelly bottoms: for this reason, the marker features a plastic tip to protect the wood and increase the product's durability.
