As the name suggests ("XT" stands for extra tough), this monofilament leader material is designed for extreme situations and is particularly suited for use in steep inland waters, where rigs are not cast but rather submerged to catch large carp. It is an excellent option when braided leaders, such as Arma-Kord, cannot be used or if more elasticity is preferred. XT Snag Leader stands out from the competition for its performance in steep waters where the bottom is rich in vegetation: while braided lines tend to increase the chance of everything becoming snagged, the larger diameter of this material helps ensure the leader passes through vegetation instead of cutting it, thereby increasing the bite potential. Two breaking strengths are available: 50 lb/22.6 kg (0.55 mm) and 60 lb/27.2 kg (0.65 mm). The material is supplied on 100 m spools designed to prevent more line from unspooling than necessary: simply wind it directly from the spool while keeping everything under tension.
