The Mini Heli-Safe is a reduced and compact version of the original and retains all the features that contributed to its great success... plus a few more. It works exactly the same way, which was revolutionary when the Heli-Safe first came to market. We were able to provide anglers with a way to helicopter fish, but with the ability to lose the lead when a fish is hooked. This is a huge advantage when fishing near weed beds or obstacles, or when using setups like Chod rigs. The Heli-Safe allowed helicopter fishing quickly and effectively; simply attach a lead to the system, and the product does the rest, releasing the lead as soon as the terminal swivel presses against the top of the Heli-Safe. Since then, technology has advanced and we have managed to make the system much smaller, which not only makes it less visible on the bottom; but also reduces its air resistance, improving distance when casting at extreme ranges; and also decreases the chances of snagging in weed or obstacles during the fight once the lead has been lost. Besides being more compact, the biggest difference from the original is that there are three setting options; the classic one that allows the lead to release as soon as pressure is applied to the top of the Heli-Safe; one with a red spring that requires significantly more pressure to eject the lead, perfect for situations where the lead needs to be released only occasionally in lakes fairly free of weed and obstacles; and finally one that completely prevents lead ejection by using the plastic collar as in the original version. The Mini Heli-Safe comes with a size 11 half swivel and can also be used with leadcore. Despite the smaller size, it is incredibly strong and can withstand the use of any lead from our range, even when casting at extreme distances. NOTE: Mini Heli-Safe is not compatible with Dark Matter leaders or the Heli-Safe Tubing Kit. Colors: weed or gravel Quantity: 2 per pack
