Marker Braid, a braided line with a reduced diameter, is designed to allow casting a marker float and exploring the lake bottom, reaching the maximum distances allowed by the rod in use. It is a non-elastic braid, capable of transmitting the bottom's sensations to the marker rod, and since it is floating, once the right spot is found, it helps ensure the marker float will resurface. Its dark green color camouflages it during bottom sounding, both when used with or without a marker float. Marker Braid is durable, an essential feature considering how often marker floats need to be cast and retrieved, dragging them through weeds and other obstacles, and it also allows for very strong knots. Given its reduced diameter and a breaking load of only 20 lb/9 kg, it is necessary to use a 30 lb/13.6 kg Arma-Kord shockleader to avoid breaking. Each spool contains 300 m of braided line.
