The new Long Chuck line has been specifically designed for long-range fishing and will add extra distance to your cast compared to a standard monofilament. It has low stretch to allow quicker rod compression, very low water absorption, and lets you feel the lead at a distance or in crosswind. That low water absorption also helps ensure the line is lighter and stays in the air longer, thus reducing lead resistance during casting. However, the most important factor for achieving this is that the line is colorless—adding dye to a standard mono line increases weight and alters the molecular structure by increasing elasticity, meaning colored lines do not reach such long distances. Long Chuck also features a high breaking strength to diameter ratio, which significantly reduces both resistance and line weight compared to an equivalent breaking strength: 10 lb equals 0.27 mm; 12 lb equals 0.30 mm; 15 lb equals 0.33 mm; and 20 lb equals 0.40 mm. It is supplied on 1,000 m spools.
