The Kamakura process ensures a hook sharpening that is as good as a hand-sharpened hook, without the time and effort required to do it yourself – you can be sure these hooks are perfect every time you take them out of the box. The Kamakura Wide Gape X is an enlarged version of the classic model, with a thicker wire but a much sharper and thinner point compared to the standard "X" hook – you will likely need to change your hook after every fish caught due to the extremely sharp point. It features an eye slightly turned inward, a short shank, a heavily forged curve, and a beak point. It can be used with a wide variety of different pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once set, it tends to stay in place. The points are protected by a wax coating that must be carefully removed before use. The hooks come in a box that securely holds each individual hook. You get 10 hooks in each box. Versions with and without barbs are available in sizes 4, 6, or 8.
