Sustain is a premium spinning rod series designed for the most demanding predator anglers who require versatility, precision, and performance. With a complete range covering a wide variety of freshwater and saltwater spinning fishing techniques (including Distance and Power Game applications), Sustain combines Shimano's advanced carbon technologies with refined components to offer lightness, responsiveness, and power.
For the predator angler who prefers to use a spinning reel, Sustain is a truly versatile rod range designed to excel across a broad and diverse range of spinning fishing styles. The shorter, fast-action models provide exceptional precision and responsiveness with twitchbaits and softbaits, turning every movement into a flawless presentation. The “Distance” models increase casting distance and accuracy with twitchbaits, minnows, and spoons, allowing easy coverage of distant feeding areas. Completing the range, the “Power Game” rods offer strength and control to target powerful predators with bulky lures and metal jigs. Each model features a convenient two-piece construction for easy transport. Whether fishing near structures or casting toward the horizon, Sustain represents the perfect harmony of power, sensitivity, and refinement, with an unbeatable quality/price ratio.
Sustain owes its exceptional performance to high modulus carbon blanks reinforced with Shimano's Spiral X technology. This advanced construction reduces blank twisting and improves casting accuracy and power transmission, ensuring high performance even in the most demanding conditions. Matching the quality of the blank, this attractively designed range is equipped with Fuji K-Type Alconite guides for smooth line control and superior durability, even with ultra-thin braided lines. The lightweight and responsive Shimano Custom Ci4+ reel seat ensures perfect spinning reel integration and optimal comfort, while the ergonomic EVA handle with split grip guarantees a secure and balanced hold in all conditions. This combination of cutting-edge materials and ergonomic design makes Sustain the ideal choice for predator anglers seeking precision, power, and casting efficiency across a wide range of freshwater and saltwater applications.
