The new 26 Tournament Basia represents a new evolution in the design of Big Pit reels for modern carp fishing. Reimagined starting from a completely updated 45 mm spool, the design introduces a 10% increase in diameter with an extremely reduced taper of only 2°, improving line capacity, smoothness, and casting performance. The result is a reel capable of reaching an extraordinary retrieve speed of up to 115 cm per crank turn, making it ideal for long-distance fishing and use with heavy baiting or extreme distance rigs. Rotor and structure The increase in spool size led to the development of the largest rotor ever made for a Daiwa Big Pit reel, designed to ensure maximum stability and balance. Everything is made from Zaion material, which guarantees a perfect balance between structural rigidity and lightness, keeping the total reel weight to only 535 g. The new Zaion Airdrive Rotor improves rotational smoothness, reducing inertia and vibrations for a more precise and controlled action. Casting and winding system Airdrive Bail The new Airdrive bail uses a hollow, reduced-diameter bail wire, reducing overall weight without compromising rigidity and strength. Slow Cross Wrap The Slow Cross Wrap winding system optimizes the line arrangement on the spool, improving line release and reducing friction during casting. The result is greater distance and better line management even in difficult conditions. Long-distance performance Long-distance fishing is now a key element in modern carp fishing. The 26 Tournament Basia is designed to excel both in casting and bait placement from boat or kayak. Protection and reliability Magsealed technology protects the internal system from water, sand, and impurities, reducing wear and maintaining consistent performance over time even in extreme conditions. Drag and control system QD Quick Drag up to 15 kg for quick and immediate adjustments Smooth and progressive system ideal during the fight HIP line clip for precision in repeated casting Twistbuster III for line twist reduction Functional details Classic Big Pit Daiwa wooden handle design New enlarged anti-reverse lever for faster and more intuitive use Structure designed to withstand prolonged sessions even lasting several days
