G. Loomis presents for 2026 the new versions of the prestigious Asquith Freshwater and Saltwater fly rod series, designed to offer top-level performance to technical fishing enthusiasts.
Both ranges are built on Spiral X Core blanks produced at Shimano's Kumamoto factory in Japan and handcrafted finished in Woodland, Washington. This combination results in an extremely lightweight structure, precise actions, and remarkable durability, designed to meet the needs of advanced anglers.
Main technologies and features
Spiral X Core construction
The blanks use carbon tapes with high-strength resins developed through Toray Nanoalloy® technology, engineered to increase torsional, flexural, and compressive stiffness in all directions, enhancing control and responsiveness.
New redesigned reel seat
The new reel seat with a fixed curved hood and optimized knurling ensures a more secure reel grip and better ergonomics during use.
Premium components
The rods are equipped with black snake recoil guides treated with PVD.
The Freshwater series features Fuji T2 Titanium SIC stripping guides, while the Saltwater series uses Fuji T3 Titanium SIC stripping guides to ensure maximum smoothness and corrosion resistance.
Finishes and equipment
Each rod comes with an aluminum rod tube and a fabric case. Final assembly takes place in the United States, using blanks produced in Japan according to high-quality standards.
