The peg fits perfectly into the hole made in the pellet using a Fine Nut Drill with a 1.5 mm diameter tip. The pellet peg inserts snugly into the hole, preventing water from entering the pellet; this helps keep the bait hard and usable for a long time. Pellet Pegs are colored to match the original coloration of trout pellets and halibut pellets and have a profile that allows use either through the sides or through the center of the pellet.
