This superbly powerful rod is capable of long-range casting with feeders up to 3 ounces (85 g). With the right technique, distances approaching 80 meters can be achieved with remarkable accuracy. Working with five-time world champion Alan Scotthorne and top international anglers Steve Hemingray, Darren Davies, and England Feeder Team Manager Dean Barlow, we extensively field-tested and modified various prototypes of the Acolyte Distance Feeder in the UK and Ireland. The finished model successfully combines the usual feeder rod requirements for bite detection, sensitivity, fish reaction feel, and balance with long-range casting. It also represents fantastic value for money compared to other models, some of which cost more than twice as much! Optimal monofilaments are from 6 lb to 10 lb (2.7 kg to 4.5 kg) or 0.08 to 0.12 mm. Oversized guides assist with the use of shock leaders to gain the required distance. The rod comes with 2-ounce, 2.5-ounce, and 3-ounce tips, which are also available separately with 2.5-ounce test curves.
