The Shimano Speedmaster XTD is an exceptional carp fishing reel that offers remarkable value. It features gears and long cast technology directly taken from Shimano's more expensive, category-leading models. If you are looking for an excellent combination of value, quality, and performance, you will be immediately drawn to the Speedmaster XTD. Combining the same G Free Body silhouette found on many Shimano reels with a sleek, stealthy appearance, the Speedmaster is visually striking. It also performs impressively in use. The Speedmaster not only allows you to cast farther, but its new gear arrangement and technology provide the strength needed to easily land larger specimens. It is truly hard to find fault with the Speedmaster reels. They have inherited many flagship features used in Shimano's top Big Pit reels. For example, the Super Slow 5 oscillation is used on all reels up to the Power Aero, along with G Free Body, Parallel Body, and a cold-forged aluminum AR-C spool. A spool capacity reducer set is also available to make the operation more economical, especially when using thin mono or braided lines. Regarding retrieval and fighting, the combination of HAGANE Gear and SILENT DRIVE technology optimizes winding efficiency, while Instant Drag allows for very quick adjustment of the drag tension. Perhaps the most impressive feature is that, while maintaining the credibility of its more expensive counterparts, the Speedmaster offers an outstanding quality-to-price ratio.
