The Spheros SW offers the right balance between technology and price. Capable of excellently handling inshore spinning and occasional offshore fishing, with HAGANE Gearing and a body built to face any challenge, the Spheros also features Shimano's X-Protect protection to ensure its longevity. Although the Spheros SW has an impressive range of features and technology and will serve you well in demanding situations, it is not a budget alternative to a Stella or Twin Power! For inshore work and occasional deep-sea fishing, it is a great low-cost option, but for continuous extreme fishing targeting massive tuna, GT, groupers, or sharks, better service will come from one of the more expensive models. That said, for anglers who often travel or vacation and want to build their tropical setup, the larger sizes are an ideal choice with excellent value for money. The Spheros is a practical reel that goes well beyond its price. With an HAGANE aluminum body, this is a very durable reel. The combination of HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP is further enhanced with InfinityDrive to provide plenty of torque and starting power. It also has X-Protect water protection (IPX8) to keep water out of important moving parts. However, the drag does not have the same power as its more expensive siblings, and there are fewer ball bearings positioned throughout the construction. That said, Spheros is a great choice backed by Shimano's reputation for high quality.
