The Cardiff XR is a high-end reel designed for Trout Area and Trout Native Fishing. Combining a classic look with minimal weight, it perfectly matches and balances finesse trout rods and benefits from a special drag design for use with the latest thin-diameter lines. Are you looking for a specialist reel capable of balancing your light trout area rods while offering both precision and sensitivity? The Cardiff XR might be exactly what you need. Visually distinct from other Shimano spinning reels, thanks to its round cork handle and deep pearl green finish, this is a reel that stands out. With a light startup rotation that offers brilliant bait control at your fingertips, if you specialize in light lines you will greatly appreciate the precision of the ultra-fine front drag, calibrated for the thinnest lines. As expected from a high-end SHIMANO reel designed for finesse techniques, the Cardiff XR features a wide selection of cutting-edge technologies. The lightweight CI4+ body has the G-FREE design for optimal balance when using ultralight rods. Inside, the HAGANE gear, X-SHIP, Micro Module II, and Silent Drive combine to produce smooth and efficient rotation, further enhanced by the latest low-inertia MGL rotor for ultra-light rotation. This is a significant advantage when working small baits with precision. In line with Aero Trout and Native Trout techniques, which often require the use of ultra-thin lines, the Cardiff XR is equipped with a special drag with felt discs that inspires confidence in fish fighting, especially when the catch is close to the net.
