The Vanford is one of Shimano's smoothest spinning reels. Perfect for a wide range of medium-light techniques, the Vanford is part of the Magnumlite series and pushes the boundaries of Shimano's technology and engineering, offering impeccable precision that you can actually feel and definitely appreciate. The inertia required to set the Vanford rotor in motion is almost imperceptible. It's hard to describe the feeling, but pick one up and you'll immediately understand what we mean. With sensitivity and lightness comes control, and with control comes a better fishing feel. It's a win for everyone, and when it comes to light fishing, there's very little that can compete with the Vanford. Pairing it with any high-quality spinning rod will instantly improve balance, allowing you to fish better, longer, and increase your enjoyment to levels beyond what you can imagine. The sensitivity of the Vanford is the result of the MGL rotor, which together with the body is designed with Shimano's exclusive Ci4+ composite material. This is also why the reel feels so light in hand. Internally, HAGANE Gear, MicroModule II, X-SHIP, and Silent Drive work seamlessly together to provide smoothness and an impressive amount of power. The Vanford is also equipped with Shimano's advanced Duracross drag system, ensuring exceptional and precise control during the retrieval of fighting fish. For hassle-free line management, the Anti-Twist Fin controls the pressure on the line passing through the line roller to the spool and is particularly useful when fishing with very light lures.
