Thanks to the redesign of the rotor (Airdrive Rotor), spool (Airdrive spool), shaft (Airdrive shaft), and bail (Airdrive bail), the new Luvias benefits from a significant weight reduction: taking the 2500 size as a reference, the weight has decreased from 175 to 150 grams compared to the previous model. The complete redesign of every structural element has resulted not only in greater lightness but also in improved smoothness and fluidity during use, minimizing the rotor's rotational inertia. This makes it even more responsive to the initial crank handle movement and during stop-and-go retrievals, thus enhancing precision in imparting the right movements to the lure in spinning fishing. An important innovation in the new Luvias is the ATD-L drag system, an evolution of the well-known progressive ATD drags: it is now even smoother at the initial pull and then progressively stiffens to successfully complete the fish retrieval. This allows less stress on the line, enabling easier and safer fishing with thin leaders. In sizes 2000 and 2500 S, the drag is now set to a max drag of 5 kg (previously 10 kg in the old 2500 size) for further improved sensitivity and precision in finesse techniques.
