The SpeedMaster II is designed for speed and offers some of the fastest retrieves available. Built to deliver high-end performance and reliability in a compact and lightweight frame, when switched to low gear mode it provides relentless power to tame the biggest fish.
If you are looking for a high-speed spinning reel for all-around use, covering almost every saltwater fishing need, the compact SpeedMaster II is the reel you have been searching for. With the added advantage of falling into the mid-price range, whether bottom fishing in the deepest oceans, jigging in shallow waters, or trolling for tuna, the SpeedMaster II has speed to burn when you need it. And when switched to low gear, the high torque, reassuring power, and impressive drag performance ensure victory even when battling the largest pelagic species.
The SpeedMaster II’s rigid Hagane aluminum body is remarkably compact for easy handling, especially in smaller sizes, and prevents any misalignment of internal moving parts. It also features Shimano’s high-performance E.I. surface treatment to protect against corrosion. Internally, the stainless steel gear is supported by 4 shielded S A-RB bearings, which resist corrosion and ensure smooth performance even at the highest speeds or under extreme pressure. The powerful drag is operated by an easy-to-use lever that locks firmly in place, and as an extra bonus, a spare lever is included, which produces a less aggressive drag curve for optimal use with nylon lines when fishing pelagic species.
