The SLX MGL is a great addition to the popular SLX family. With its compact body that fits perfectly in the hand, it offers incredible value combined with a distinctive style and a super lightweight MGL spool. The perfect reel for light lures for anglers on a small budget.
The SLX name is well established in the baitcasting reel market and has an enviable reputation for offering great value and all-around performance. If these features are appealing and you want an option for fishing with smaller, lighter lures, the more compact SLX MGL version will surely be at the top of your list. With its low-inertia MGL spool, it is noticeably easier to cast light lures, allowing you to cast flips, pitches, or overhead with ease.
Although the SLX MGL is designed as a value reel oriented towards light line, it still offers a wide range of versatility and is certainly powerful enough to handle medium-sized lures and large, strong fish. This is due to the solid HAGANE body, brass gears, and Cross Carbon Drag. But the main reason to use this reel is how it handles light lines and lure setups, and the MGL spool, SVS Infinity braking system, and S3D spool combination that reduces vibrations make it appealing to a wide number of enthusiasts.
