The Aldebaran BFS is Shimano's most advanced ultra-finesse baitcasting reel. Designed for fishing with the lightest lures, this technically brilliant and lightweight reel can handle lures as light as 1 g and is a serious alternative to smaller spinning reels.
If you are a specialist in light lures who loves fishing with finesse-type baits, or for smaller species like trout and perch, you will love the Aldebaran BFS. Even anglers who have previously only used spinning reels for their ultra-fine fishing will immediately appreciate the advantages of this model. A quick rod tip movement casts the lightest lures in an almost frictionless flight. And if conditions change, or if you choose a lure of a different weight, a quick adjustment of the brake knob always provides the perfect brake setting.
The remarkable casting performance of the Aldebaran BFS is provided by the FTB (Finesse Tune Braking) system. This is a combination of magnets and centrifugal brake working in harmony with the ultralight MGL III spool to control rotation. The addition of the S3D spool design and SilentTune technology further enhances performance. Adjusted by an external dial, when set to minimum, the brake friction is almost imperceptible. But there is much more to the Aldebaran BFS than its remarkable casting performance. Internally, Micromodule Gear and X-SHIP provide smooth, powerful, and efficient winding power, and the overall weight is reduced thanks to the use of a HAGANE body made of magnesium and CI4+ materials.
Light lure experts who prefer a fast retrieve will appreciate the options of 7.8:1 (HGL) or 8.9:1 (XGL) models, both equipped with Shimano's Exciting Drag Sound to enhance fish fighting.
