The Baitrunner XTB-LC is available in two sizes - 'Big' with its impressive casting performance and a smaller 'Medium' size ideal for medium-distance work. Both feature the latest technology, including wide spools designed for long casting and Shimano's famous Baitrunner freespool system.
The "Big Baitrunner" holds legendary status among carp anglers. If you are looking for a long-distance reel with Shimano's famous freespool system, this is the reel for you. The original version was launched over 25 years ago to great acclaim, and years of refinement and increasingly advanced technology have been added to this latest version. The result is a reel you can fully trust. Long casts with impressive power; pair it with any 12 or 13-foot TX rod with Intensity action, and you will have a setup that maximizes your performance and increases enjoyment.
Inside the stealth black body of the Baitrunner XTB-LC is a combination of HAGANE Gear and X-SHIP. These provide smooth and powerful rotation with enormous retrieval power to land the biggest carp and even the strongest European catfish. The large AR-C aluminum spool of the bigger model holds a huge amount of line and benefits from Slow Speed oscillation combined with Aero Wrap, offering outstanding line lay. However, for anglers who do not need such large capacity, spool reducers are included. For medium and smaller waters, check out the "Medium" version which offers an excellent size and balance compromise while retaining all the important features and attributes of its bigger brother.
