The Biocraft XR rods are the most technologically advanced fly rods ever produced by Shimano, offering an impressive combination of casting performance, fishing convenience, and quality. The full range covers all situations, from ultra-light nymph fishing to tuna fishing at sea.
The Biocraft XR is an extraordinary blend of technology and fly fishing expertise. Pick one up and you will immediately understand the quality of the tool. Lightweight, responsive, perfectly finished, the Biocraft XR stands well above its price and is a serious contender against some much higher-priced competing models. With 25 models in the range, there is something for every taste, from the lightest and most sensitive actions to the most powerful ones to handle large predators in both saltwater and freshwater. Each is a fine work of art, instantly becoming an extension of your arm.
At the core of every Biocraft XR is an amazing combination of exclusive Shimano technologies, blended to achieve the perfect action for the rod's application. The high modulus blanks feature HPC, Biofibre, Nanosheet, and Diaflash in various blends. This combination results in lightness and balance where needed in stream and light models, and control power and unmatched casting performance in powerful and two-handed models. As an additional advantage, almost all models are built in three or four pieces to reduce transport length.
As expected from a premium rod, the ferrules are top quality and selected for their performance characteristics. Seaguide and Fuji SIC guides ensure lightness and durability, Seaguide reel seats perfectly match traditional cork handles, and each rod comes with a velvet bag and a hard tube for transport.
Of course, to fully appreciate a Biocraft XR you need to get your hands on one and try it. Only then can you fully appreciate the extraordinary performance offered by a rod that in some cases costs half as much as its competitors. Biocraft XR - Born to fly!
