The lightest spinning reel from Daiwa ever: the new Airity features simply exceptional performance and build quality. The body is a monocoque (MQ) type, entirely made of magnesium to offer unmatched structural rigidity and lightness.
The 23 Airity was developed according to the new Airdrive Design concept for the construction of the rotor, spool, bail arm, and shaft, borrowed from the brand-new top-of-the-line Exist.
The rotor in particular, made of Zaion, is designed to minimize weight and rotational inertia while maintaining greater strength than standard Air Rotors. Also, the ATD-L drag is state-of-the-art with sensitivity and precision performance never seen before: it reacts even more smoothly and softly to initial pressure compared to traditional ATD drags, then quickly but gradually sets to the brake setting.
This is a fundamental feature especially for techniques that require the use of very thin and ultra-thin lines, such as trout area, light spinning, and bolognese fishing.
