Designed for barbel fishing in rivers, the Barbel mix is used by all our specialist consultants. Made with a blend of halibut pellets and coarsely ground hemp to create a perfect mix for use with cage feeders, river feeders, or for forming bait balls. Also excellent as a Stick Mix base for PVA bags or spod mix.
When used for feeder fishing, it can be prepared to create a rather sticky mix, resistant to strong currents, which, thanks to its pronounced granularity, will break down releasing particles to create a strong trail attracting fish towards the bait.
The ground hemp produces a very light oil that is released quickly, even at low temperatures, creating immediate attraction. Combined with the special action of the fish oils contained in the halibut pellets, it provides an attraction point for a prolonged period. Indeed, under the action of the current, the different particle sizes composing the mix create an olfactory trail where the smaller pieces move downstream while the larger pieces remain close to the feeder.

Preparation Guide
HempHali Crush is simple to prepare. Pour the contents of the bag into a sufficiently large round bucket, add about 1 to 1½ pints of water and mix thoroughly, then let the mixture rest for 30 minutes during which the water will be fully absorbed. Then, to remove any lumps and create a uniform consistency, rub it between the palms of your hands.
When fishing on hot or windy days, be careful of the mixture drying out; protect your groundbait with a bait cloth and occasionally check its consistency. If necessary, you can add a minimal amount of water to restore the moisture level to an optimal state.
